The Club has also invested in a 20-ton boat hoist to lift boats off of the 15-ton trolley and cradle which runs on rails down the newly refurbished and re-designed slipway. Together these major developments make launching and retrieving boats much faster and safer. It is also easier for boats to be lifted mid-season for a scrub-off or essential repair work and for trailer-sailers to access the water quickly and safely.

Arrangements for launching and retrieving boats can be made with the Shoremaster.

Improving shorebased facilities is one of the major focuses of the investment in redevelopment. A new storehouse for inflatable dinghies, with a cruiser workshop allowing undercover repairs and maintenance is now completed. The Old Lifeboat House, a listed building, has been transformed into a training centre and store for our Mirrors, Lasers and Oppies.

The gravelled car park and areas for winter storage ashore have been upgraded and enclosed in security fencing, with water and power planned for the near future at a number of points around the boatyard.

Access roads to the boatyard and clubhouse now have a fresh look, having been lifted and replaced with concrete. New security fencing and an automatic gate have now been installed . See Redevelopment News for more details.
